Bonnie and Clyde are back. As if they ever left. It was 79 years ago on May 23, 1934, that common thieves Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were mowed down by pursuing lawmen and started their unlikely journey into popular culture history and mythology. It was almost 47 years ago, in August 1967, that they got their biggest boost to immortality by having Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty portray them in the big-hit motion picture “Bonnie and Clyde.” Now, the A&E, History and Lifetime networks will simultaneously air a new “Bonnie and Clyde” miniseries, which the networks hope will become as big a hit as their “Bible” or “Hatfields & McCoys”

Prince Avalanche looks like a movie for anyone who has ever wondered who paints the lines on country roads. Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch star as road workers in a desolate area of Texas that leaves them increasingly getting on each other’s nerves. In the trailer, Rudd writes to the unseen Madison about how he doesn’t miss city life and how he is pretty sure there’s something wrong with her brother (Hirsch). Writer/director David Gordon Green directed bro-comedies like Pineapple Express, The Sitter, and Your Highness, but judging from this trailer, Avalanche is going to be quieter, subtler, and more indie, like Green’s All The Real Girls and Snow Angels.

Avalanche premiered at Sundance and was quickly scooped up by Magnolia Pictures. The film also screens this week at the Tribeca Film Festival. It will be released Aug. 9.

Emile Hirsch rocks some period piece clothing while filming on the set of Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive on Wednesday (March 27) in Baton Rouge, La.

The 28-year-old actor was joined on the set by his co-stars Sarah Hyland, Holliday Grainger, and Lane Garrison.

Emile plays the role of Clyde, the charismatic robber to Holliday‘s Bonnie. Sarah plays Emile‘s sister-in-law and wife to Lane‘s character Buck.

The mini-series is set to premiere in a four episodes on Lifetime.

Over the summer, director David Gordon Green revealed a surprise low-budget remake of Icelandic film ‘Either Way’, now called Prince Avalanche, and the first photo from the film has arrived. The official synopsis reads:

“Two highway road workers spend the summer of 1988 away from their city lives. The isolated landscape becomes a place of misadventure as the men find themselves at odds with each other and the women they left behind.”

Starring Emile Hirsch and Paul Rudd, the film will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and we can expect t to hit cinemas sometime in 2013.
